November 20, 2006I'm new to this world, can ya'll help? My son and I have a 64 short project in the early stages that will be his 1st truck when he is 16. We have the frame off and we just finished blasting it and cleaning it up. A friend of mine that does a lot of car building offered me (for free) a front clip out of a early 70's chevy Nova. He said it will fit our truck fine and that it would be the way to go. I've never done the clip thing before, but would really like the disk brakes and power steering for my son for safety. Thanks for any help ya'll can give us.

November 20, 2006There are much bed front end kits for you truck than the old nova front end. check out this web site www.classicperform.com
November 20, 2006i tried to do a sub frame in my 53 chev with a early nova. it is not easy and once you cut your truck frame it is a no turn around commitment. be very sure of your mesurements and very sure you want to cut your frame there are many other alternatives that are much better in my mind. i made one bad move and ruined my frame, it is not easy to find a good replacment frame. i cant think of the manufatures off hand besides fat man fabrictions, that make front suspension upgrades for your truck. good luck to you
November 20, 2006Check out the web sites and get catalogs from Fat Man Fabrications, No Limit Engineering and Classic Performance Products for ideas. You may wish to install later model Chevy truck components to provide disc brakes and such because the Nova clip is a serious undertaking with possible pitfalls.
