November 3, 2006Hey guys, just got home from SEMA today and can update you on your question about Bill (hotrodr) DeGaine. I moved out to the fire camp a week ago Thursday. Worked around the clock to set up camp at Reynalds Creek Park in Baumont, and the Cal Trans yard in Banning. Bill's home is up on the Banning Bench, North of the freeway and several miles from the fire line. All was well with them. I camped out untill Monday, and brought home a trailer load of extra tents, tables, chairs, swamp coolers, etc. Unloaded, cleaned up, repacked and headed for SEMA on Monday morning. Bill joined up with our bunch (No Limit, East and West Coast) last night for dinner and party. By the way, the give-a-way truck sure sounds and runs good. Rob got it going late Sunday night in Henderson. I haven't read any of the reporting about SEMA in CTW yet, but, I'm here to tell you that it was a huge show. Took Pam and I 2 1/2 days to see most all of it, including the section at the Sands Convention Center. Spent each evening before dinner in the hotel spa trying to ease the sore muscles. Boy, if any of you "tool lover" guys got to attend, you should have had a field day going through the vendor isles. Pam had to keep draging me along just to get thru the place. What a picknic to be had. Oh Well, got my fix for a few years now.
