March 2, 2004I was wondering what size rims you recommend for a 53-56 F-100. I heard 15" fronts and 16" rears. Not sure about offset and wheel width. Any help?

March 2, 2004I would say it all would depend on the stance you want your ride to take. It's all a matter of what you want, are you looking to go original? Or are you looking for a modified stance?
March 4, 2004I don't want the original stance. I'm looking a few options. I like the Eagle 211 series rims. I'm not sure if I should go 17" front and rear, or 16" fronts and 17x 9.5 rear. or? I liked to find someone who found the right combo. Rims and tires are expensive to experiment.
March 4, 2004I am running 17's on my truck. I know it is not the same year as your truck. Take a look at my gallery. They are Intro's.
March 9, 2004There a hundreds of custom F100's out there with all sorts of wheel combos out there. Try doing a search on google for "f100" and click on images. Moat of the time it'll be someones homepage that will tell you what wheels they are running. No shortage of motivation out there. Also hit up some of the Truckmagazines websites and look at the featured Trucks. Basically look what other people are running and pick a Combo you like.
February 11, 2005A shop I delt with out of Washington said 18X7's would work up front. But this was with the TCI IFS which puts the track at 60in's. Me personally i plan on getting 18x7's and 20x9.5 boyd coddintong's smoothie II"s for my truck, that will keep me from tubbing the backend. Good luck it's been a head ache trying to figure this out myself
February 13, 2005A lot of this depends on the fender well opening on your truck. Some trucks look better with different size wheels. Most look better with the same size wheel and different size tires.
I would suggest if you want a modern look, go with 17's. If you really want to be agressive go with 20's. Stay away from 18's if you can because there are fewer choices in tire sizes to fit them...
September 25, 2005I have a 1994 chevy 1500.. I wanted to go with bigger size tire without lifting it and without them rubbing. I have 235\75\15.. i want 30 but also don't want to change my rims. can anyone help...
March 26, 2006I have a 56 F100 that ran 8x15 wheels w/ 275-60-15 tires when it had orig. solid front axel & 9 in. rear. Now with custom IFS & IRS ( C-4 corvette ) I run 7x15 front wheels w/ 255-60-15 tires and in order to run the 8x15 s on rear, I had to go to 3 inch wider fenders. -- love those 8 inch rims - wider look is a-ok also.
March 26, 2006The 15 inch wheels are GM rally wheels ( Corvette & Camaro ).
