September 26, 2005Hi,
I have a 1966 International pickup truck. It’s a ¾ ton 4-WD (1200A), with posi-traction. This one has the heavy duty floating axles (4:10 Ratio). On this one, the ring and pinion come out from the back as compared to the ’66 ½ ton rear-ends made by International (the ones with the tapered axle setup), that come out from the front. It has developed a lot of excessive play. Before I tear into it to see what is causing the play in it, I need to investigate where I might be able to locate replacement parts for it. My question is, does anyone know who the manufacturer of this rear-end was? Secondly, does anyone know where I could get a hold of a schematic of this rear-end? Thirdly, any idea of anyone who might have parts for this rear-end (new or used)? As many of you probably already know, the IH Co. has absolutely no interest whatsoever in helping anyone that has bought one of their products in the past and they have no parts (with the exception of a few engine parts), for their light-line trucks. So, any help that any of you can come up with would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
